Q What is the expiration date of my membership?
A. Membership expires one year from the date of your contribution.
Q. May I show my support for specific programs?
A. Of course! You may indicate the program you are specifically donating to when you make your contribution.
Q. Why does Suga 95.7 FM, WSGD-LP ask for financial support in addition to annual membership?
A. Our members gifts are very important for helping us balance our budget. Whatever the form, we depend on these amounts each year, to meet our financial goals. So, these are not “extra” dollars. Instead, those donations along with the financial support all go to help us provide the quality programming our members depend upon and appreciate.
Q. Is My Donation tax deductible?
A. Your contributions to Suga 95.7 FM, WSGD-LP are tax-deductible. However, there are regulations by the IRS that impact what your charitable deductions would be, based on Fair Market Value of any goods or services you may receive from us because of your contributions. The Fair Market Value of an item is determined by its manufacturer and is the reasonable retail price you would pay if you bought that item in a store. If you would prefer to receive the full tax benefit for your contribution, you must decline to accept any rewards from us before we mail them to you, or you must return them to us unopened. We recommend you speak with your personal financial advisor for any additional tax information.
Q. What is the purpose of on-air membership drives?
A. Suga 95.7 FM, WSGD-LP receives a significant part of its funding from listeners like you. Through on-air pledge drives we are able to connect with those people. Although most of our fundraising happens online and by mail, our membership drives provide an invitation to others like you to join in supporting us so you can continue to get the quality programming you are accustomed to. This is especially important since Suga 95.7 FM, WSGD-LP is a non-commercial, audience driven, public broadcasting station.
Q. How soon can we receive “Thank You” gifts ordered during a pledge drive?
A. It normally takes 6 – 8 weeks to receive a Thank You Gift but be assured that we are doing everything in our power to speed up delivery.
Q. Do I get a receipt for my contribution?
A. You should receive from us a confirmation and thank-you message for each donation made during a pledge drive. In accordance with IRS rules, we also mail a tax-deductible receipt for every pledge of $40 or more to the donor. You can expect your receipt in mid-January for the preceding year. If you need additional receipts we would be very happy to send those to you upon request.
