Happy New Year from Suga 95.7 FM!

The City of Lauderhill came together on January 10, 2026 for its Community Clean Up Day, and leadership was clearly demonstrated through action. Mayor Denise D. Grant joined residents and volunteers from the very beginning, showing that true leadership meant serving alongside the community.

Volunteers gathered early at Lauderhill City Hall before spreading out across neighborhoods, parks, and public spaces throughout the city. Equipped with gloves, trash bags, and a shared commitment to community pride, residents, local organizations, and City staff worked together to collect litter and beautify areas across Lauderhill.

During the event, Mayor Grant spoke with Mike B from Suga 95.7 FM, sharing her thoughts on the strong community turnout. She expressed how impressed she was by the number of residents who showed up to participate and emphasized that the large turnout demonstrated how much people truly cared about their city and its future.

City Leadership Worked Hand in Hand With the Community

Mayor Grant actively participated in the clean up efforts, engaging with volunteers and offering encouragement as teams worked in various zones. Her presence reinforced the City’s commitment to environmental responsibility, civic pride, and neighborhood well being.

City leadership also played an important role throughout the day. Commissioner Richard Campbell, along with other members of the City Commission and City staff, helped lead clean up efforts in designated zones. Commissioner Campbell also spoke with Mike B from Suga 95.7 FM during the event, sharing his perspective on the importance of community involvement and teamwork.

A Citywide Effort With Lasting Impact

The Lauderhill Community Clean Up Day resulted in noticeably cleaner streets, refreshed parks, and improved public spaces. Beyond the visible improvements, the event strengthened neighborhood connections and reinforced a shared sense of responsibility for maintaining the city’s appearance.
