Music runs deep in his veins. Born into a rich musical heritage, his father Beltone was a reggae DJ and record store owner, and his uncles—Howard Barrett of The Paragons, along with “Family Man” Barrett and Carlton Barrett of Bob Marley and the Wailers—left their mark on reggae music history.

Yanks started DJing in high school, turning his passion for mixtapes into a promising future. After relocating from Connecticut to Atlanta, he earned his Bachelor’s in Audio Production at the Art Institute and lit up clubs throughout Georgia. Inspired by the Caribbean diaspora, he co-created Carib Vibes Radio, which helped shape his path in media and music.

Now, DJ Yanks is a leading figure at Suga 95.7 FM, where he not only hosts shows but also serves as Program Director. His Caribb Vibes Traffic at 6 show is a fire blend of reggae, dancehall, R&B, hip hop, soca, Afrobeat, and beyond—making your evenings feel like a nonstop party.

His DJ career has taken him global—touring and performing with some of the biggest names in the industry: Shenseea, Rygin King, Ding Dong, Govana, Sean Paul, Dovey Magnum, Tanto Metro & Devonte, Richie Stephens, Beres Hammond, Stonebwoy, Mario Cheef and more. He has also worked with BET, Television Jamaica, and T-Mobile, and played events in Canada, Brazil, Taiwan, England, and Jamaica.

In 2022, he received the African Achievement Award for Best Afro-Caribbean DJ of the Year—a milestone in a career full of accolades.

With his brand Premiere Muzik, DJ Yanks is developing artists, producing cutting-edge mixtapes, and continuing to elevate Caribb Vibes as one of the premier Caribbean music shows. His goal is to inspire, uplift, and energize every listener—whether on-air or in person.
