Cardi B and Nicki Minaj recently set social media a blaze when the two fought at a New York Fashion Week party in early September. The details at first were unclear but eventually came to light. Cardi B alleged that Nicki Minaj insulted her parenting skills as well as her child, Kulture, directly. While Minaj denies this, it did not stop Cardi B from chucking her shoe at the Super Bass rapper.
Nicki Minaj waited for the heat of the fire to die down for a couple of days before firing back at Cardi B from the safety of her Apple Music radio show, Queen Radio. Minaj said that any claims that she outright disrespected Cardi’s child is “all lies”.She goes into depth about her innocence stating, “I would never ridicule anyone’s child,” Minaj said. “It’s so sad for someone to pin that on somebody. I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting. These lies are ridiculous.” The Pills N Potions rapper did not stop there, she then boasted that if Cardi B were to harm anyone in her crew, she will die.
Throughout all the drama, and despite all the spite that was thrown Minaj’s way on social media, Minaj still believes she won. Sources close to Minaj says that she believes she won since her radio streams have quadrupled in the last week and her new video, Barbie Dreams, reached five million views in only 24 hours. Minaj’s camp then adds to the claim saying that Minaj believes that Cardi B is now a laughing stock due to the meme reaction their scuffle attracted.
Cardi B and her team have been the complete opposite of Nicki Minaj and her camp. In light of this event, Cardi and her camp are quiet with the exception of two social media posts. Cardi B took to Instagram hours after the fight occurred to explain her side of situation. The I Like It rapper wrote that she gave Minaj plenty of opportunities to come face to face with her and air out any issues that Minaj had with her. Cardi B said Minaj elected to fold each and every time and instead behave childishly by liking comments about Cardi’s child and her ability as a mother. The second social media post was simply to respond to Minaj who claimed that Cardi B bought her radio plays. Cardi B posted a video of fans rapping Bodak Yellow on Beyoncé’s On the Run II Tour. Overall, Cardi B has been virtually radio silent on social media. However, one thing is clear. Cardi B has no issue defending her family again.
